Jaguar Land Rover on Display at 2017 LA Autoshow
The Los Angeles Autoshow runs this December from the 1st through the 10th, and Land Rover has announced that they will be unveiling the largest-ever range of Jaguar Land Rovers. This follows product introductions for both Jaguar and Land Rover that took place in November.
Range Rover will be unveiling the 2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography and the 2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models. Specific product details should be announced within the coming days.
The products on display are part of the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division and range from luxury vehicles (the SVAutobiography) to models showcasing better performance (SVR) and greater capabilities (SVX). Also on display will be the 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR and Land Rover Discovery SVX concept. This marks the first occasion that all three types of SVO vehicles will be displayed simultaneously.
The Land Rover SVX was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It’s a concept model that promises the ultimate Discovery vehicle for off-road enthusiasts, able to handle a wide variety of terrains thanks to its supercharged V8 engine, traction management system, hydraulic roll control, and larger tires. Meanwhile, the 2018 Land Rover Sport SVR promises to be the ultimate sport vehicle. It’s got a 575 hp V8, upgraded brakes, lighter seats, and a carbon composite hood. It reaches 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds, and is capable of driving at speeds of up to 176 mph.
Meanwhile, Jaguar’s got its eye on sustainability, as they plan to unveil several eco-friendly vehicles. The 2019 MY Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will be displayed. As gas-electric plug-in models, they illustrate the company’s commitment to sustainability. But don’t expect a compromise on luxury or performance. They feature enhanced luxury design so that drivers won’t need to compromise either their taste or their values. Jaguar promises to fully electrify its range by 2020.
Dr. Ralf Speth, Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Officer, said: “From 2020 every new Jaguar Land Rover model line will be electrified, giving our customers even more choice. We will introduce a portfolio of electrified products across our model range, embracing fully electric, plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid vehicles. Our first fully electric performance SUV, the Jaguar I-PACE, goes on sale next year.”
